This free check takes about 5–7 minutes and has three short parts:

Does a hearing problem cause you to feel embarrassed when meeting new people?
Find a quiet spot
Move to the quietest room you can. Switch off fans, TV and music — background noise makes soft tones impossible to judge fairly.
No headphones with you? — you'll still get a result from your answers so far.
Put on your headphones
Any headphones or earphones work — wired or Bluetooth — as long as they're on both ears. Make sure the left and right sides are on the correct ears.
Set your volume — the hand-rub trick
- Lift one earphone off (or push headphones back) and rub your hands together quickly and firmly near your nose. Notice how loud that is.
- Headphones back on. Press play below and adjust your device volume until the sound is about as loud as the hand-rubbing was.
- Then don't touch the volume again until the end.

Listen for a soft tone in your right ear
Press Play tone, listen carefully for about 2 seconds, then answer honestly. Some tones are very soft on purpose — it's fine not to hear them.

You'll hear background noise, then a voice saying three numbers (0–9). Type them and press check. It gets harder as you do well — that's normal, everyone reaches their limit.

Do I need headphones for the online check?
For the tone and numbers-in-noise parts, yes — any headphones or earphones worn on both ears work. No headphones? You can still complete the 10-question screening and get a result based on your answers.
Is my result stored or shared?
No. The entire check runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored. Sharing your result with the clinic via WhatsApp is entirely optional and in your hands.
What should I do after the online check?
If it shows signs of difficulty — or if it says "low signs" but conversations still feel hard — book the free 30-minute clinic test. It confirms the result with calibrated equipment, checks for simple causes like wax, and costs nothing.
